تل مليء بالحفر

التل فوق القرية مليء بالحفر. حفرها الناس بأيديهم. الحفر تنزل مباشرة إلى الأرض.

The hill above the village is full of holes. People dug them by hand. The holes go straight down into the ground.

هناك حوالي ألفي حفرة. بجانب كل حفرة يوجد حبل ودلو.

There are about two thousand holes. Next to every hole there is a rope and a bucket.

عمال المناجم لا يستخدمون آلات. الآلة قد تكسر الحجر الأزرق. لذلك يستخدمون أدوات صغيرة وأيديهم. الصخر يصعد في الدلو. الرجال ينزلون على الحبل. بعض الحفر عميقة جداً.

The miners do not use machines. A machine would break the blue stone. So they use small tools and their hands. The rock comes up in the bucket. The men go down on the rope. Some holes are very deep.

العمل صعب. وهو أيضاً خطير. بولي تجلس وتشاهد. دلو مبلل يصعد. رجل يفرغ الصخر وينظر فيه.

The work is hard. It is also dangerous. Polly sits and watches. A wet bucket comes up. A man tips out the rock and looks through it.
