Ο Κήπος του Βουνού

Το πρωί ο αέρας μύριζε γλυκό και ξηρό. Η Polly περπατούσε ανάμεσα σε χαμηλούς ασημί-πράσινους θάμνους στην πλαγιά του βουνού.

In the morning the air smelled sweet and dry. Polly walked through low silver-green bushes on the side of the mountain.

Πέρασε δίπλα από δεντρολίβανο και θυμάρι. Η μυρωδιά των φυτών την ακολουθούσε παντού. Αυτό το βουνό είναι ένας διάσημος κήπος.

She brushed past rosemary and thyme. The smell of the plants followed her everywhere. This mountain is a famous garden.

Εκατοντάδες άγρια φυτά φυτρώνουν εδώ. Μερικά από αυτά δεν φυτρώνουν σχεδόν πουθενά αλλού στον κόσμο.

Hundreds of wild plants grow here. Some of them grow almost nowhere else in the world.

Ένας μικρός φοίνικας φύτρωνε ανάμεσα στα βράχια. Πεύκα έγερναν πάνω από την ανοιχτόχρωμη πέτρα. Η Polly κάθισε στη σκιά και άκουσε τον άνεμο.

A small fan palm grew between the rocks. Pine trees leaned over the pale stone. Polly sat in the shade and listened to the wind.
