Первый свет

В своё последнее утро Polly полетела к самому краю мыса, туда, где на картах написано Кап-де-Сант-Антони.

On her last morning, Polly flew out to the very end of the cape, the point the maps call Cap de Sant Antoni.

На краю утёса высоко стоял маленький белый маяк. Много-много лет он следил за кораблями и морем внизу.

A small white lighthouse stood high on the edge of the cliff. For many, many years it has watched over the ships and the sea below.

Солнце медленно поднималось из воды. Море вокруг мыса спокойное и прозрачное, оно находится под охраной, поэтому рыбы и растения на дне живут спокойно. Первый свет ещё раз окрасил скалы в золото.

The sun rose slowly out of the water. The sea around the cape is calm and clear, and it is protected, so the fish and the plants below the surface live in peace. The first light turned the cliffs gold one more time.

Polly обернулась и попрощалась с горой-слоном. Потом она поднялась на тёплом утреннем ветру и полетела над ярким, открытым морем.

Polly looked back and said goodbye to the elephant mountain. Then she rose on the warm morning wind and flew out over the bright, open sea.
