De klif boven haar

Polly gaat verder de trap af. Dan ziet ze iets vreemds. Ze ziet nu weinig hemel. Ze kijkt omhoog. De klif hangt over haar hoofd.

Polly goes further down the steps. Then she sees something strange. There is not much sky now. She looks up. The cliff hangs out over her head.

Dat heeft de zee gedaan. Golven slaan tegen de onderkant van de klif. Ze nemen de rots mee. Dan heeft de rots erboven niets meer onder zich. Beneden zijn ook grote grotten.

The sea made this. Waves hit the bottom of the cliff. They take the rock away. Then the rock above has nothing under it. There are big caves down there too.

Op de rotsen beneden staan donkergroene vogels. Ze houden hun vleugels open. Zo drogen ze in de wind.

On the rocks below there are dark green birds. They hold their wings open to dry them in the wind.

Eén vogel valt van de rots in de zee. Hij maakt bijna geen spat. Polly wacht. Ver weg komt de vogel weer boven. Hij heeft een vis.

One bird falls off the rock into the sea. It makes almost no splash. Polly waits. The bird comes up far away. It has a fish.
