Ayrılıp Giden Kaya

Polly daha aşağı iner. Suda uzun bir kaya görür. Kaya yalnız duruyor. Çevresinde beyaz dalgalar kırılıyor.

Polly goes further down. She sees a tall rock in the water. It stands alone. Waves break white around it.

Uzun zaman önce o kaya uçurumun bir parçasıydı. Sonra dalgalar altındaki taşı alıp götürdü. Şimdi denizde yalnız duruyor. Dibi ince.

Long ago that rock was part of the cliff. Then the waves took away the stone under it. Now it stands alone in the sea. It is thin at the bottom.

Bir martı geçer. Bu martı teknelerin peşinden gitmez. İnsanlardan yiyecek almaz. Kendi balığını denizde yakalar.

A gull flies past. This gull does not follow boats. It does not take food from people. It catches its own fish in the sea.

Martı uçup gider. Polly kayayla uçurum arasındaki boşluğa bakar. Orası eskiden taştı.

The gull flies away. Polly looks at the space between the rock and the cliff. That space was stone before.
